Israeli invasion to Gaza leads to Muslims unity against Tel Aviv.

Respondents to a Press TV poll say the Israeli ground incursion into Gaza will either lead to a defeat or Muslims unity against Tel Aviv.

Some 41 percent of the 26,385 respondents to a recent Press TV poll are of the opinion that Israel will be defeated by Hamas, while 35 percent believe that Muslims will unite and come to the aid of the Palestinians. Only 24 percent of the participants believe that Israel will be able to defeat Hamas in its ground incursion. Israel launched air and sea attacks on Gaza on December 27 and later took its operations to the next level by sending its ground forces into the strip. ادامهٔ مطلب »

Ten-Point Plan to Solve All of America’s Problems

By Robin Williams

You gotta love Robin Williams……Even if he’s nuts! Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan. What we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.
Robin Williams’ plan…(Hard to argue with this logic!)
‘I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here’s one plan.’
1) ‘The  US  will apologize to the world for our ‘interference’ in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those ‘good ‘ole’ boys’, we will never ‘interfere’ again.
2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with  Germany  ,  South Korea  , the Middle East , and the  Philippines  . They don’t want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence ادامهٔ مطلب »

Livni calls for early general elections in Israel

Israel’s Kadima leader Tzipi Livni has called for early general elections after Shas party dashed her hopes of forming a new government. «The people will choose their leaders,» Livni said after meeting with President Shimon Peres on Sunday. She made the announcement after her month-long negotiation with other parties ended in what she called ‹an extortion of talks›. The Kadima leader, who feared the continuation of talks with other parties would damage her reputation, said «I’m sick of this extortion…recent days have turned the coalition demands impossible and I had to draw the line. ادامهٔ مطلب »

U.S. Middle East Policy against Islamic Moderates

In the conclusion of their article titled “Saudi Arabia Backgrounder: Who Are the Islamists?” the International Crisis Group argues that the threat of Islamic extremists toppling the Saudi regime has “…been widely overblown…” by Western nations such as the United States. In addition, they go on to argue: “Another potential recruitment source [for jihadists] will be returnees from the struggle against the U.S. in Iraq…” a situation which mimics the Afghan War against the Soviet Union after which jihadists returned to Saudi Arabia  with a new “…highly militaristic, violent worldview…” The article then goes to on to cite centrist groups as being the only feasible alternative to the rise of Islamic extremist ideology, underlining the true concern associated with the severe restraint and thus decline such groups have experienced due to U.S. policy to establish what Secretary Rice calls a “‘new Middle East.’” This New York Times article outlines the various U.S. initiatives that have proved troubling for moderates throughout the region[1]. U.S. support for Israel in its battle with Hezbollah has drawn attention to what some Muslims view as “inconsistencies” in U.S. policy which lead the nation to only defend its interests with no regard for morality, making any views that could be cited as “western” difficult to defend ادامهٔ مطلب »

The Root of Middle East instability

The endless Middle East conflict has been a headache to the world. The world does not seem to understand why in the modern age where peace is a common value, there is still much disharmony in the Middle East Region. Bush, the American president, has also stress that there is common vision of peace among Israel and his Middle East neighbour and remain optimistic. Yet Israel mentioned full scale military operation into Iran to destroy nuclear weapon yesterday, stall hopes of peace once again. As usual, American aillies, Israel, is conflicting American low oil price interest once again with the oil price spike immediately because of the proposed possible war that may led to oil supplies disruption. ادامهٔ مطلب »

Why Israeli settlers are lashing out

When Yaron Ezrahi was a young political science professor in 1983, his star student was Emil Grunzweig, who had just completed his thesis on free speech. Two days later, Mr. Grunzweig was killed at a peace rally here, when a right-wing activist threw a hand grenade into a crowd of people demonstrating against Israel’s involvement in the war in Lebanon. Today, Dr. Ezrahi sees a resurgence of the same blend of violence and lawlessness that took the life of Read more »
