The Qatari crown prince in a meeting with Iranian defense minister in Doha on Tuesday called for an expansion of defense ties with Iran. Iran’s Defense Minister, Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, accompanied by a high ranking defense delegation, conferred with Qatar’s Crown Prince, Tameem Bin Hamad Al-Thani, and the country’s deputy commander of armed forces.
Pointing to Iran’s role in regional developments, Al-Thani said that “we consider Iran a big, Islamic, brotherly and dear country.” The crown prince pointed out that every country has the right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, adding, “We are confident that Iran’s nuclear activity is solely peaceful.”
